Sheila Fleet Paisley Collection
The paisley design originated from the motifs representing the date palm in ancient Babylon over 2000 years ago. This 'Tree of Life' provided the fundamental necessities of food & shelter, it also represented the beginnings of growth and a symbol of fertility. The leaf design has been used by many civilisations for decoration. From the late 1700's onwards, shawls which were imitations of the popular Indian version were made in Paisley, Scotland. They became very sought after and fashionable. As a result of their enormous success the design became known as the Paisley Pattern. Sheila Fleet's interpretation of the Paisley Leaf into Sterling Silver jewellery reflects the intricate original patterns in a contemporary way

Sheila Fleet Primula Scotica Collection
Primula scotica only exists in Orkney, Caithness and North Sutherland on maritime heath. Orkney sites include Yesnaby, the west coasts of Rousay and Westray, Papay, North Hill and South Walls. The average size of the flower is 8mm in diameter with five heart-shaped petals and a bright yellow centre. This tiny rare plant inspired Sheila to make a collection using the actual size of the flowers in silver with vibrant enamels and a solid 18ct gold centre.
